These
instructions will show you how to setup Windows XP to connect to
the UI Wireless Network (pre Service Pack 2). If you have a
wireless card that does not support Windows XP or you are not
using Windows XP please stop by the Help Desk in TLC 128 with
your laptop and we can assist you in setting up the connection.
If you have not registered your network card please do so on the
Account Management Site under "Wireless Registration"
- Go to the Start Menu, Select "Control Panel"

- Click on "Network and Internet Connections"

- Click on "Network Connections"

- Right Click on the "Wireless Network Connection" and
select "Properties"

- Select the "Wireless Networks" tab and click on the
"Add" button under "Preferred Networks"

- Enter "AirVandal" as the "Network Name (SSID)", uncheck
the box "The key is provided for me automatically", and then
enter the current WEP key in the "Network key" and "Confirm
network key" boxes. Then select OK.

- You will see "AirVandal" appear in the list of
"Preferred Networks". Click on OK to exit.

- If you are within range of an access point Windows XP
should negotiate a wireless connection and will display this
message.
